welcome

Valley Forge was the site chosen by General Washington for the encampment of the American Continental Army over the winter of 1777-1778 during the American Revolutionary War. Valley Forge National Historical Park commemorates more than the sacrifices and perseverance of the Revolutionary War generation; Valley Forge was where a new, confident, professional American army was born. Most importantly, it was there that a vigorous, systematic training regime transformed ragged, amateur troops into a confident 18th century military organization capable of defeating the Red Coats in the open field of battle. It honors the ability of citizens and their leaders to pull together and overcome adversity during extraordinary times.

The Friends of Valley Forge Park is dedicated to the preservation of the American spirit that was such a vital part of that winter encampment, to the conservation of the landscape that contained that encampment and to the promotion of today’s Valley Forge National Historical Park.

The National Park Foundation and Coca-Cola have joined together to create the AMERICA IS YOUR PARK CAMPAIGN to encourage Americans to be active outdoors in state and national parks.

An online voting center has been created to cast your vote that Valley Forge National Historical Park is YOUR FAVORITE PARK. If you use and enjoy the Park, please show your support by voting online frequently in the month of August.

>> VOTE HERE <<

Vote as many times as you like. Ask your friends and family to vote and send to your social networks. Voting ends August 31, 2010. In just 72 hours we went from under 300 votes to over 15,000. We can do this with your help.
