Shelter Our History Campaign

shelter drawing

With 1.6 million people visiting the Park each year, the construction of a new pavilion is vital to providing a welcoming haven for visitors, school children and recreational users. The Friends of Valley Forge Park is committed to helping build an open-air pavilion in partnership with the Park, who will do the necessary preparation and site work.

With an ambitious goal of $75,000, we got a strong start thanks to a generous contribution of $5,000 from UGI Amerigas. To date, we have attained almost 80% of the funding but need your help to reach our goal.

Impact of Your Support

A shelter will service the needs of a diverse group of individuals and groups:

  • Provide a sheltered place for school groups to have lunch and a picnic area for Park visitors
  • Designated space for family reunions and local business gatherings
  • Increased capacity for outdoor classroom space and educational programs, such as Junior Ranger Camp, Join the Continental Army, Lunch & Learn, and ecology programming
  • Sheltered spot for participants in recreational activities like the Revolutionary Run, community volunteer work days in the Park, plus more!

Legacy of Your Involvement

All donors to the Pavilion Shelter Campaign will be invited to the Groundbreaking Ceremony and be kept informed of construction updates. And when you support at the $100 level or above, you’ll also receive personal recognition in the Book of Donors and be invited to a special pre-opening dedication service.

Your support to the Pavilion Shelter will not only make a real and meaningful difference today, but also help preserve this precious resource for generations to come. Contribute today by making a secure online donation. To pay by check, please use this printable form.

Thank you in advance for your support!
